Coding camps for girls 8-15 years at Swinburne Uni

We came across this summer holiday activity run by ‘Code Like a Girl’ at Swinburne Uni with 2 events in January that might be interesting for local youth to get involved with.

Description:

Three jam-packed days of interactive fun where the girls will get to tinker, build and design across several technology platforms such as apps, games and websites! Your curious little budding coder will build confidence, skills and meet new friends.

Code Like a Girl’s Code Camp compliments the Digital Technologies curriculum. We put a great emphasis on providing girls with a nurturing environment to comfortably learn and explore different areas of coding at their own pace, based on their interests.

Our Code Camp is small in size at around 20 girls per cohort and led by women who work in the tech and education industry. Our facilitators provide girls with inspirational female role models, not only addressing some of the barriers to women’s participation in STEM and entrepreneurship, but also encouraging more girls to realise their potential.
